St Ann’s Hospice selects m-hance to implement its new charity finance system

May 2022, UK.

m-hance, a leading Microsoft Gold Partner and provider of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions to the Not-for-Profit sector, was selected by St Ann’s Hospice to implement a new charity finance software that needed to meet the team’s specific requirements and timescales.

Founded in 1971, St Ann’s Hospice helps people from across Greater Manchester who are over the age of 18 and affected by life-limiting illnesses, also providing support to their loved ones and carers. With around 350 staff and 700 volunteers working tirelessly to improve the lives of patients, the hospice is one of the oldest and largest adult hospices in the UK.

With a legacy system imminently going out of mainstream support, the finance team at St Ann’s Hospice embarked upon a project to research the range of available finance systems on the market, as well as a suitable technology partner who could deliver to an ambitious timescale. The team came across m-hance’s NfP 365 Finance solution which is built upon the framework of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Microsoft’s newest ERP system) and tailored to the needs of the charity sector.

Alan Moody, CEO at m-hance says:

“From an initial call at the beginning of February through to being able to go live in early May is testament to the dedication and professionalism of both the team at St Ann’s Hospice, as well as here at m-hance. The hospice needed to move quickly with a finance solution that was going to meet their needs now and in the future, and we are thrilled that our NfP 365 Finance solution was chosen. We are very much looking forward to continuing to work with the team at St Ann’s Hospice and seeing the benefits their new system will bring them.”

The team at St Ann’s Hospice are now set up and using their new NfP 365 Finance system, as well as a selection of additional modules including a Power BI reporting pack (built on the Microsoft Power Platform) which contains charity-specific SORP reports. A Partial VAT module has also been implemented, giving the team functionality to assist with VAT recovery calculations. A future project involves the implementation of m-hance’s Purchase & Expense Management App which is built on a Power App.

Claire Murphy, Head of Finance at St Ann’s Hospice says:

“This was a really important project for us, with a very tight deadline, and the team at m-hance immediately put us at ease and guided us through the stages required.  They took the time to get to know St Ann’s and what we needed, which meant they could lead us to the right solution.  They are experts in their field and I’ve felt reassured and have known we were in safe hands throughout the process.

“Our consultant has been so patient with us throughout testing, training, and go live, and has been available whenever needed. It’s been an absolute breeze from start to finish.”

NfP 365 Finance is part of a suite of products built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and tailored specifically for charities. The suite also includes packaged versions of NfP 365 Finance aimed at smaller charities and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions NfP 365 Enterprise, NfP 365 Fundraising & Engagement, NfP 365 Help & Advice, NfP 365 Power Platform and NfP 365 Power Apps; demonstrating m-hance’s ability to offer charities a true Microsoft Dynamics 365 end-to-end solution for all their fundraising and finance requirements.
