Microsoft Dynamics is always updating and adding new features, and 2023 will be no different. The first wave of Microsoft’s release plans for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform has just been made public. However, we’ll focus on the elements that, in our opinion, are the most effective and beneficial for organisations. The latest developments in Sales and Customer Service have been covered in previous blogs. Now we are going to dive into Marketing.

Dynamics 365 Marketing elevates customer experiences, allowing you to orchestrate personalised journeys across all touchpoints to strengthen relationships and earn loyalty. The Dynamics 365 Marketing app works seamlessly with Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, Microsoft Teams, and other products and allows you to make faster and better decisions using the power of Data and AI. The Dynamics 365 Marketing 2023 Wave 1 release includes a number of intriguing new features and upgrades that are designed to improve your ability to interact more personally with your customers, encourage internal collaboration, and speed up decision-making by utilising real-time Data and AI. We have selected the following features as the most significant updates among those that are fundamental:

  1. ChatGPT style segment builder

The new builder in Dynamics 365 Marketing allows segments to be created using leads and contacts as the target audience. For creating segment logic, the new designer offers a more approachable drag-and-drop interface. This includes the capability to find attributes to include in the segment while avoiding the need for in-depth data structure knowledge.

Real-time marketing segments can also be quickly created using natural language queries. The segment’s suggested data structure is presented in a Query Assist panel. If more information is needed, it can be added to this before using the query to add a new segment or change an existing group. Even though this isn’t a complete solution for making complex segments, it does offer a place to start when developing criteria and adjusting the outcomes to complete each segment. You can develop segments based on information about customer interactions with marketing emails and websites in addition to demographic and firmographic attributes.

  1. AI based content ideas

You can outline the key messaging points for an email using the new AI-powered email content idea feature in Dynamics 365 Marketing, and AI will then generate up to 20 email content suggestions for you to develop. This will give marketers a place to start when coming up with concepts for interesting content. It is comparable to asking a group of colleagues to brainstorm ideas with you.

The GPT-3 machine learning model, which has recently gained attention, powers this feature. In order to produce content with a similar tone, structure, and style, it refers to earlier marketing emails. It is trained on a large number of examples to produce text that appears and sounds like it was written by a human. It is a brand-new, cutting-edge feature that makes use of intelligent technology.

  1. Send segment-based emails without building a journey

In conventional email marketing, building a complex marketing automation journey is frequently necessary to create targeted email campaigns. Users can now send segment-based emails quickly and easily without having to create a journey thanks to this new feature.

With the help of this feature, users can choose a particular segment of their customer base through details like demographic data, past purchases, or other characteristics. The user can then create and send a targeted email campaign to this segment without having to create a difficult automation journey.

  1. Message frequency cap

Marketers often try to strike a balance between communicating with their audience frequently enough to be remembered and sparingly enough not to overwhelm recipients with messages.

When customers are exposed to too many messages from one organisation in a short amount of time, marketing fatigue can result. Lower engagement and less effective marketing campaigns may result from this.

By allowing organisations to set limits on the number of messages sent to a customer in a given period, this new feature will assist them in preventing message fatigue. This feature will give marketers more control over their communications by allowing them to set daily, weekly, and monthly limits for each channel and journey, which will help to reduce unsubscription rates.

  1. New analytics dashboards

Use out-of-the-box dashboards to track your pipeline development and analyse the impact and contribution of journeys, marketing messages, and content at different stages of your business process. When using Dynamics 365 Marketing and Sales, further optimise your pipeline velocity by aligning marketing and sales teams on common goals using a shared view of the pipeline.
